Save the Date: Ekothon Pirkanmaa, 1-2 October 2020

Our Pirkanmaa region contains many incredible solutions and ideas to make the world ecologically and socially sustainable, fair and just. The ideas might be there, but is widespread action actually happening? What’s standing in the way, and how can we improve this?

To help things happen, we created Ekothon.  It is a hackathon-inspired two-day event online.

Participants will choose the theme they want to work on during Ekothon. The themes are:

Intersectoral working groups will co-create innovative solutions with the help of facilitators and the project team.

The aim of Ekothon is to bring the solutions from companies to municipalities and to understand how everyone of us is part of the solution. Ekothon will spark dialogue and collaboration between business and politics, between art and science, between the farmer and the town planner. We want to build trust and understanding between different sectors, organizations and people, to inspire action.

Ekothon is meant for everyone! We particularly encourage companies, start up:s, businesses, municipal planners, politicians, artists and academics to take part and make things happen!

For Ekothon to be a success, all participants need to dedicate 1st and 2nd October from 9.00-14.00. Ekothon will take place in ZOOM.

Ekothon will have a maximum of 80 participants.  Be one of the firsts and book you place here:

Pirkanmaan liitto, Tampereen yliopisto, Teknologian tutkimuskeskus VTT, Suomen ympäristökeskus SYKE, Taiteen edistämiskeskus.
